URGGGG

So, I was set and okayed to start going off my meds on June 8th. Well, the plan has changed.  URG.  Because I'm not 18 til late June, my drivers license will need to be renewed after my birthday. But if I start going off as we had planned, when I go to renew it I'll have to resubmit medical papers and they'll find out that I'm not 'controlled' anymore and take my license away. And then it takes a lot of extra work and hoop-jumping to get it back. SO, I have to wait another month to start.  Not at all cool. In any way.  Things were going to plan, I just knew something was going to go wrong. I was just hoping something wouldn't.  Hopefully this is the only bump in this road and I won't have anything go wrong when I finally get around to getting off.  I just want to get it over with!

the simple things

One of the things I most enjoy, that cannot be bought is the after-swim feel.  Most people hate that feel of chlorine all over.  I ♥ it!  Swimming is cool and all and it's really nice to feel almost weightless and just float around, but the aftermath is the best.  After a shower, so that my hair doesn't go wacky and nasty on me, it's perfect.  The still chlorine-y feel on my skin, making it feel extra soft and smooth, my hair smelling wonderful and slicked back in a bun.  Oh, but save the best for last.  When I eventually take that bun down later in the day (sometimes I last until right before bed).  It's still damp and has some weird crimp or wave to it, but the smell is amazing.  I literally make my mom and dad smell my hair after I take it down everytime.  Theres something about the feeling of having gone swimming, the chorine, the freshly washed hair, even the worked-out muscles that are tired from swimming, and the slight hunger.  What's even better is the ride home.  With my hair in it's bun, my driver's window all the way down and some wonderful music coming out of the stereo.  I want it to just last forever.

and so the saga begins...

This Tuesday I had my EEG to make sure it's ok for me to try to go off my medicine come June.  They usually take about a week to call you back.  Not this time.  He called us back later the same day. I only had one little spike, in the last 10 seconds, probably as the lady was turning on the super bright feeling light.  He said it's considered normal though, so I'm all clear for weaning off my drugs. Our original plan was to start the first of June.  They initially said it would take 6 weeks.  It will really only take like 4.  Because of graduation and Project Serve the last week of June, we are going to start weaning June 8th.  At least thats the plan for now.  We realized that my license expires my birthday so we went today to renew it so I wouldn't have deal with it when I'm weaning.  Well, I could pay the $20 today, but it would still expire on my birthday, when I would have to pay another $32.  So, we're waiting :) BUT.  When I first got my permit, we had to get a doctors note and stuff saying my seizures were under control and stuff.  Well, we don't know if they're gonna make us redo stuff when I go to get a new license.  And if they do, and I'm weaning, I'm not controlled, and my license would be suspended.  And once I get recontrolled one way or another, I'd have to jump through hoops to try to get my license back. Not cool. BUt. They might not ask at all.  See, with the state, you never know what they're gonna do... That's why they're so fun! ;)  So we emailed the neuro and explained the situation, so we'll either wean as planned and try and reget my license after my birthday and see what happens, OR we'll have to wait until after my birthday, after I get renew my license, to start the weaning.  Oh, what fun! And this is only the first step - nothings really happened yet!

Lately...

So spring break weekend I went with people from my youth group to the beach. It was great. Relaxation! :) I even minorly got a tan. I was so relaxed and low key and forgot to take pictures except this one:

The next weekend was prom! My friend Loren and I went together, deciding to go just for fun, not having a boy to go with or anything :) We met with my other friend Caroline and her boyfriend and ate at Kabutos, a Japanese place where the cook the food infront of you. Very yummy. Prom was ok. Interesting. But not the highlight of the evening... Then we rented a redbox movie and came back to my house and watched it. Overall, it was fun and worth it, and I can't say that I regret not going :)

I even curled my hair! :)
